History
In December 2003, Goodwill was awarded the YouthLINK Demonstration Project from the City of Pittsburgh to expand the capacity of the CareerLink system. YouthLINK created a strong community partnership to connect youth in South
Pittsburgh with local employment opportunities and information about potential career paths. Although YouthLINK services target youth living in the South Pittsburgh area, young people living outside of this area are welcome.
YouthLINK has experienced much success since its inception in December 2003 and continues to receive support from our initial partners and a growing list of new ones. The project continues to make great strides, as it seeks
to collaborate and enhance the programs and strategies available in the area of youth employment. The YouthLINK project has served over 400 youth, contributed an innovative look at youth recruiting practices and marketing materials
and continues to assist the CareerLink system in its efforts to meet the needs of area young people. We are excited and proud that YouthLINK has been awarded the opportunity to continue to impact the lives of youth through the
end of June 2010.
